New camera

Yay! We got a Canon Digital Rebel XTi today! I LOVE it almost as much as I LOVE my pink hair. :)

I love that I can finally take pictures like this one where the flower is in focus and the background is blurry. I had lots of fun out in my garden taking pictures of the flowers and veggies.

And then I came inside and took some self portraits. So much easier with an SLR than my old point and shoot. (Just look for your reflection in the lens in the mirror and you'll know it's lined up properly.)

I am saving for my very own xti! Almost there! Altough I am holding out so I can buy a few extras too! I know you will love it! How about sharing the self portraits too!

oh, and did you find a great deal around here or did you order it online?

Probably not the best deal, but I'm one of those people who when they decide they want something, they want it now. :) Unfortunately I found the flier from Ritz with the good deal a day after the sale ended. :( So I bought it from my local camera store. They are a great business though, and I know I can go to them with any questions, so I definitely get the support I may need with the purchase.

This is me telling you how happy I am for you - and secretly sooooo jealous inside! But seriously, I'm so jealous! OK, really seriously, that is so cool! I already told Mark that that is what I want for my birthday this year. And since it's the big 4-0 it will definitely be mine! (insert evil laughter) So I'd really love to hear what you think about it as you use it and keep those awesome pics coming!

Couldn't your old camera get depth of field in macro mode? Check out the photo I took in New Mexico of the flowers in the foreground and the fuzzy mesa in the background. That's one of my favourite photos of this trip so far.

This is the one I mean.

Andrew- none of my macro photos with the old camera were this good.
