Whatcha readin'?

Last fall Andrew was doing some purging and offered up many of his books to his friends and family. He sent around a list of the titles he had available and I picked a few that were of interest. He also decided I could use some other books, many of which I added to my own purge pile and donated to the library.

Well one of the books I chose was The DaVinci Code. In December Chris decided to give it a read and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Now with the movie coming out soon he told me I better hurry up and read it so that we can go see the movie. So last night I started. And I didn’t want to stop. But I made myself close the book and go to bed. Now I’m eagerly awaiting my lunch break so that I can read some more.

I imagine I’ll be done with it relatively soon, so have any other book suggestions?

If you're that into DaVinci Code, then you need to read Angels & Demons. It's the book that comes before DaVinci Code, but it's okay if you read it after. I really liked it just as much as the DaVinci Code.

I have it if you want to borrow it.

I ditto what Mel said. After reading the DaVinci Code I went and bought Demons and Angels and I really liked it. I can't wait for the movie although I pictured the character to be cuter than Tom Hanks-owell. I purged my library when I got here at a military yard sale...out of one of the books came a credit card, since expired, that I put in there one day and forgot about. Scary. Don't know why that was important but I'm stalling from my chores.

We actually have Angels & Demons already. When in GA Chris borrowed his parents' copy. And since it came from their house, it smells like cigarrettes, so of course Tony is constantly licking the book. He actually has licked the words off the spine. Kind of gross actually. (To those who don't know, Toy is our cat and he loves cigarrettes.)

Sometimes I open certain things and can smell my dad's cigarettes. They premeate everything!!

You should read Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum, a much better written story of the Knights Templar and the Illuminati. Eco also wrote the vastly more popular The Name of the Rose.
