A packaging question...

As I mentioned in my last post, we're planning to give the mom-to-be gift certificates for house cleaning as well as from various restaurants. So how to I wrap/present these in a fun and creative way? The house cleaning GC is in a #10 envelope (the normal long sized ones) and the 3 restaurant gift cards are all normal sized with minimal packaging. However, I also picked up take-out menus that could also be incorporated.

The one idea I had for the restaurant GCs would be to put them in a Chinese take-out box. Any other ideas? How about for the Merry Maids one?

could you spend a few more dollars and buy kid size cleaning supplies, we have a Mr. Clean set that we got a toyrus-they have some stuff on amazon too. it's under 20 bucks i think. then the child can play with it sometime too.

That's a cute idea. I just took a quick look online and it looks like it's $30. My only problem with getting something like that now would be that they are in a 1 bedroom. The baby's room is going to be a converted pantry. So I'm not sure how much room they'll have for extra toys that the kid won't use for a couple of years. Although I think they do have a basement, so I suppose they could store it there.

how about just sticking it on a dust pan? if they had more room it would be better. or how ab0ut placing it inside a diaper?

I think the take out containers are a cute idea. I'm not sure how creative this would be, but what if you put the house cleaning gc in the bottle that is at the top of the diaper cake. It would add some interest and curiousity to the top bottle. I'll keep thinking....

What if you go to a florist shop (Stop & Shop) and get those card holders and put the GC in those and stick those in the diaper cake and have those sticking out randomly??

Ooh...I like Mel's idea. I've begged a couple of those off of florists before and they're usually very accomodating.
