Opinions Wanted

Saw this giant clothespin and fell in love with it. It’s 1.25” wide, about 4.75” long. It has magnets on the back and also stands up on it’s own. It could be used for holding a card, maybe a small layout, etc. Anyway, I’m considering ordering some and putting my website on them- giving out at CKU, etc.

The cost per clip doesn’t bother me so much, but the setup charge does. ($1/clip, but $84 setup charge, plus a proof charge and not sure if I would also need the PMS match charge.) But here’s my question- Do you think it’s worth it? With all of the stuff that we get at CKU, would it be tossed in the trash or would people save them? My thought is that it’s cool enough that I probably wouldn’t toss them. And even if a scrapper decided to alter it and cover it with paper or something, they would still see my website before that and potentially go check it out. So, honest opinions are wanted. Worth it? Not worth it? Other?

I say go for it! I think the clips are all the rage right now. I know I bought four clips at a scrapbook store. I think it would be good advertising too!

I think the clips are super cool. One thing that may help you decide is how much you would have to sell (in profit) to cover the expense and if you think that is feasible/worth it to you. Again, I think they're cool and if I get something intriguing, I tend to check it out. Good luck!

I like the idea however I think the cost is pretty high. I guess it depends if you think you'll get that back later ...

And as a side opinion, I may alter something like that if it had another name on it. I'm sure that's not what you want to hear.

Mel, I don't think altering it would bother me too much. After all, you saved it, noticed the name on it, and possibly went to my website before altering it. What would bother me is if it went into the trash at the hotel. I know I have no control one way or the other though of that happening.
And I would need to sell 6-8 Toolbelts as a result of this to break even. Not sure if I would get those kinds of results. However, assuming next time I wouldn't have to pay a setup fee, then the cost wouldn't be as bad. I did a quick Google search and the place I'm wanting to order from is cheaper than the other place I found during my search.

I like them a lot. The cost seems a little high but mostly because of the setup. I probably wouldn't alter mine right away, so the website name would be in my face for a while :)
