Merry (belated) Christmas

Remember how big our table was at Thanksgiving? Well our Christmas celebration was quite a bit smaller. I thought a cousin would be there with her family (which would have been an additional 4 people) but they were in Vermont skiing/snowboarding. (One of her sons is on a snowboard team so they go every weekend.) In the end there were only 7 of us. This is nice though because we all get to sit around and talk much more than we do at other gatherings. Also, with the gift giving, it's nice to be able to see what everyone has received from other people. I remember the chaos of previous years. It was a bit out of control!

I also think I failed as a photographer with this visit because this is the only picture that I took. My aunt took a few more of everybody, so maybe I'll be able to get copies from her.

Celebrating this late was rather strange. But it doesn't really seem that odd to me since we always get together after Christmas. I think this year was later than most though.
With people taking various vacations around Christmas-time, it usually is January. When I was little it was always Dec. 26, but I think since the late 80's early 90's it's been later.

Sometimes it's nice not to take any pictures and just be a participant. I find that if I'm busy trying to take pictures of everything, I miss out on too much. By the way, our last Christmas celebration will be on the 28th. Of January! Talk about belated :)

oh..i just figured out by reading the comments that this is not a picture you took around the holidays to share now! I think it's great that you are doing it even if it's later, as long as your doing it.

I don't think it's odd. In fact, when we got together with my Mom's family, we always met in January. In fact, one year we met on January 25th.
