Photos from past Derbies

Here are a few pictures from the past two Derbies. As you can see, it's a mix of simple cars and more fancy cars. We have the plain block of wood that has been colored with marker and glitter added, boats, fire engines, wedges, etc.

I'm also posting a couple of pictures of the track so that you can better see what it will be racing down.

I was thinking of blinging mine out with scrapbook products. Tomorrow the search is on for a car. There is a hobby shop right around the corner! I will RSVP before Sunday I promise! Did everything get worked out with L's recipe pages?

A word about derby kits. We highly reccomend the official BSA (boy Scouts of America) kits. The first year we didn't know any better so we had some that were Pine Car brand. This brand didn't work so well. The wheels and axels are a different style and we had wheels falling off and cars not being able to go all the way down the track. I'm afraid this may be the brand you'll fine at your local hobby store.

I asked L about her page and she said she had gotten the number of pages mixed up- she was thinking it was 8. I said it would be nice if she could make another to mail to Britt. However, I think she's in the midst of getting ready to move, so not sure when she might get to it.

No problem about her pages. I thought she was in the midst of moving and that stuff is so hectic! I will remember about the boy scout car!
